You can find plenty of archive footage and stills online which are available under Creative Commons licences for you to use in your film for The Outlook for Someday.
There are six Creative Commons licences. You can click on ‘View License Deed' for each of the six licences and print a copy of the Deed.
Of the six licences you can use four of them for material included in a film for The Outlook for Someday. They are:
This is what you need to do if you use material in your film for The Outlook for Someday which is either in the public domain or available for use under a Creative Commons licence:
- In the credits of your film include the title of the material (eg the name of the archive footage clip or still which you are using) and the web address of the page where you downloaded the material.
- With your Entry Form include a printed copy of the relevant Creative Commons Deed or the Public Domain Mark.
On that printed page write the title of the material and the web address of the page where you downloaded the material.
If you want to use footage from any of the following places in your film for The Outlook for Someday make sure you download it at the best quality possible.
This is a collection of footage from 1927 to 1987, free for anyone to use.
These stock footage clips are designed to use in other films.
This site has its own collection of footage and it also has a list of other sites where you can get footage online.
There is a large collection of photographs on this site. You need to sign up and become a member if you want to use any of them. They aren’t free but they don’t cost much at all.
