Our Wellington and Auckland based volunteers work across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and have a wide range of skills in internal and external communications.

Gail Marshall and Sue McCabe set up the collective in Wellington in 2013. Through the collective they were hoping to harness the generosity of communications people and achieve more than they could through their individual efforts.

In 2015 the community comms collective won the Rising Star Award for Wellington City at the Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards.

DefenderBags have been designed especially to make a difference in the world.

Designed and manufactured in New Zealand by SpinningTop they are a:

  • Defender of the planet - having been made from old billboards which would have otherwise ended up at the landfill;
  • Defender of human rights - as profits from each sale go to SpinningTop to support vulnerable children living in extreme poverty.

Malcolm Rands started ecostore with his wife Melanie in the basement of their home in an eco-village in New Zealand in 1993. They'd been using sustainable and organic gardening practices on their property for many years but realised they were still being exposed to way too many toxic chemicals through the cleaning and body care products they were using. As a result, ecostore was born.

They found expert help to start developing products with a philosophy of 'health first' that continues today - if there's any doubt about the safety of an ingredient for people's health as well as the environment, a safer alternative must be found.

ecostore products have a wealth of scientific research and innovation behind them. Under the direction of Sir Ray Avery (2010 New Zealander of the Year) our lead formulator and chemist, each product is months in the development and making, ensuring the safest health, environmental and efficacy standards are achieved.

We're proud to be a New Zealand company, manufacturing in Auckland and creating products which are healthier for people and our environment.

MediaPasifika — comprehensive and intuitive — is one of the most powerful public relations tools available, providing an extremely efficient and effective media relations management system.

The MediaPasifika database lists all Pacific Island print/audiovisual media from Hawaii in the north to Rapa Nui (Easter Island/Isla de Pascua) off the Chilean coast with the addition of Polynesian media in Australia and the USA.

The database includes the names and functions of key newsroom journalists so precise target groups can be created, and of course the program has a free email despatch function for basic text releases.

All media are contacted quarterly for updates, but revisions are continuous as information comes to hand via research based on email bouncebacks incurred by database users.

Comprehensive listings contain deadlines for print media as well as benchmark advertising costs and basic format/artwork requirement details.
